<- Hole 9 ->

The ninth hole is a memorable dogleg left, playing down into the valley, across the lake and up the big hill to a green that sits alongside the veranda.  It's an intimidating tee shot through a gap in the trees, but just start your drive toward the arched bridge on 9, bringing it right to left.  It will roll down the hill and left, back into the fairway, which is a lot more open than it looks from the tee.  If you're a long hitter, use a 3 wood when the tees are way up front to avoid reaching the lake.  Don't go too far from the tee, or the lake can come into play.  A good drive will leave you with a long iron or fairway wood across the lake and up to the green.  Don't forget to ring the bell before crossing the bridge. The most important tip on this hole - Don't hit past the pin!  Tournaments are lost by those who visit the backside of this treacherous green.  If you do go past, you'll face a slippery, downhill (or chip) putt that will most likely end up on the green's lower tier or off it's front edge.  Be careful!
